E-Content Librarian (Ref 29)
A 3-year post-Matric qualification in Library and Information Science and at least 2 years' experience in a range of electronic resources and databases are required. Candidates should be highly skilled in Internet use and have in-depth knowledge of online databases. Duties will include: * electronic subscriptions budget * evaluative statistical reporting * contract administration * customisation of vendor database services * evaluation (including coordination of the evaluation process) and selection of electronic resources * coordination of the delivery of electronic resources to library users * development and distribution of appropriate promotional materials in collaboration with the Marketing Committee and Client Services Manager * monitoring of the functionality of Internet-based resources, contact with vendors and problem solving in this regard * participation in regional and national-level cooperative programs (e.g. GAELIC, SASLI, COSALC) regarding e-resources * collaboration with and support of the Training Librarian to present workshops/programmes for faculty, staff and students.
