The West Coast of South Africa is famous for its natural wild flowers during late winter / spring. Tourists travel from all over to witness these totally unique phenomena in the Postberg, Langeberg region. The vista is spectacular as one stands in the middle of a carpet of blazing colour -

Unseen in the rest of the world. 

The Wild flower tours come in one 5 day package. We keep in constant contact with the various regions to ensure that you see the very best display at the time of the tour. Our tour guides are all SATOUR registered. We will stop en route and visit as many flowers as is possible. You will travel in luxury air-conditioned Microbuses.

From Knysna via Swellendam, Robertson, Worcester, Wellington, West Coast National Park, Langebaan lagoon, Club Mykonos, Saldanha, Vredendal, Van Rhynsdorp, Namaqualand, Clanwilliam, and Ramskop Reserve, Niewoudtsville, bitterfontein, Garies, Bovlei Wine Cellar, the picturesque Bainskloof Pass, and Ceres back to Knysna.

Itinerary

(Day 1)

Depart Knysna 8am. Via the historic town of Swellendam and the Winelands of the famous Swartland, continue past Robertson to Worcester, Paarl, Malmesbury, Darling, to Langebaan with its West Coast National Park situated around Langebaan lagoon.

We overnight at the fabulous Horizon Guesthouse in Langebaan overlooking the tranquil lagoon.

(Day 2)

After a good rest and a hearty breakfast we explore the West Coast National Park. Langebaan and its fantastic lagoon is our first flower stop. The well known Postberg 1838, section of the West Coast National Park, not just for its Amazing floral wealth but also for its wide variety of birdlife, tortoise and antelope. We will be taking a short walk to the bird hide and at the several lookout points. We travel up past Club Mykonos and Saldanha and visit the fish market. From Saldanha; Vredenburg; Veldrift; Piketberg; Citrusdal to Clanwilliam with the beautiful Ramskop Flower Reserve.

(Day 3)

After breakfast, we leave for Van Rhynsdorp. Succulent Show, up into Namaqualand to Bitterfontein & Garies; see Skilpad Flower Reserve, diverse landscape, dramatic granite outcrops, and spectacular flowers.

(Day 4)

After breakfast we journey down through the Van Rhyns Pass & Knersvlaktes to Niewoudtville, high on the plateau of the Bokkeveld Mountains. Niewoudtville also boasts with its Neo Gothic Church & wild flower reserve. Kokerboom Woud; Matjiesfontein padstal.

(Day 5)

After a champagne breakfast its back via Clanwilliam, we work our way down through, through Citrussal, Piketberg to Moreesburg, via the famed Bainskloof Pass At the foot of the Pass we visit the 2nd oldest Wine Cellar in the country, Bovlei and a chance to taste and acquire some of the best wines produced in South Africa. On to Robertson, Aston, Montegu. We light lunch at Ladysmith, into ostrich country via Barrydale, Calitzdorp, Oudtshoorn, over the Outeniqua Pass, Knysna.
