Your guide is highly knowledgeable of the areas, their people, history and politics.

INFORMATION:

This is positive and interactive tour that will afford the visitor the opportunity to meet and speak to the people of the Cape. On arrival, many of our visitors often discover that they did not understand the extent that previous race classification laws fragmented our society. Many of the people whom the visitor originally may have assumed to have been defined as black were in fact classified as Coloured or Indian and did not live in the townships but in other designated areas. Although we take our visitors into the heart of the Townships, we preserve the integrity of our tour by also introducing them to the traditional Malay Quarter known as Bo-Kaap as well as Athlone and District 6, which were defined as coloured areas with Rylands having being defined as an Indian area.

Our Guide: Our guides is a specialist SATOUR registered quide who was a member of the disadvantaged community.

Time: This tour is offered preferentially as a morning tour but is also offered as an afternoon tour on request.

The District 6 Museum: Entrance fee included. We also visit this museum where District 6, as it was up to 40 years ago, has been depicted with artefacts and an extensive photographic portrayal of life as it was during the pre-apartheid years.
